Reigning Spanish champions Atletico Madrid defeated Valencia 3–1 on Friday 11 to bag their first ever COTIF title.
Star striker Sonia Bermúdez found the back of the net in the 25th minute to give Atletico the lead.
Four minutes later, Marta Cazalla converted from the spot to double the Rojiblancos’ lead.
Joyce Borini pulled one back for Valencia immediately thereafter but Carla Bautista scored Atletico’s third to wrap up the win.
Atletico’s win extends the dominance of Spanish sides in COTIF, ensuring that the history of the cup being won by Spanish clubs continues for yet another year.
