Linda Motlhalo scored a hat-trick while Khanya Xesi bagged a brace as South Africa strolled to a 6-0 win over Malawi to finish top of Group A on nine points on Monday, 17 September.
Motlhalo and Xesi join Cameroon’s Mpeh Bissong at the top of the golden boot race with three goals apiece.
The highlight of the victory at the Wolfson Stadium, though, was Janine van Wyk marking her 150th cap.
This sees the veteran centre-back, who earned her first senior cap in 2005, extend her record as the most-capped female footballer in the continent.
Meanwhile, Madagascar held Botswana to a 0-0 draw in their final Group A match at the Gelvandale Stadium to claim their first point of the tournament.
Holders South Africa will now face Uganda in the semi-finals while Botswana, Malawi and Madagascar exit the stage.
