Rita Chikwelu continued with her fine start for her new club Kristianstad, scoring a brace in a 4–1 away win over LB07 in a preseason match played on Saturday 1 April.
After a scoreless first half, Chikwelu gave the visitors the lead at the start of the second half before Amanda Edgren doubled the lead immediately thereafter.
Fifteen minutes to full-time Edgren was brought down in the box and Chikwelu, cool as ice, converted the ensuing penalty to complete her brace.
The hosts pulled one back but the celebrations were short-lived as Sanna Nilsoon buried home Chukwudi Ogonna’s assist to score Kristianstads’s fourth.
Chawinga, Addo taste defeat
Elsewhere, Kvarnsveden fell 1–0 to KIF Örebro courtesy of Emma Jansson’s late winner to end their perfect preseason run.
The African duo of Ghanaian Elizabeth Addo and Malawian Tabitha Chawinga featured in the match.
The ever-dependable Nigerian defender Faith Ikidi was also in action, playing the whole match for Piteå in a scoreless preseason draw against Eskilstuna.
