The Ghana women’s national team will be awarded $32,000 for winning the inaugural WAFU Women’s Cup last month.
Ghana’s Sports Minister Hon. Isaac Asiamah confirmed this on Tuesday during a press briefing.
The 21 squad players will pocket $1,000 each with officials receiving $2,000 each.
Black Queens bagged the maiden WAFU Women’s Cup after edging hosts Cote d’ Ivoire in the final.
The WAFU champions are expected to play an international friendly against former world champions Japan in the April international break.
Later in the year, they will host the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations, which will double as the African qualifiers for the 2019 Women’s World Cup.
