Ivory Coast and Ghana claimed emphatic wins over Niger and Burkina Faso on Sunday to storm to the WAFU Women’s Cup semi-finals.
Ghana completed a remarkable turnaround as they rallied from their opening defeat to finish the group stage with a 4–1 thrashing of Burkina Faso.
The Stallions went two goals down by the break courtesy of Portia Boakye’s 21st minute opener and Grace Asantewaa strike in the 38th minute.
Priscilla Okyere added a third after the interval before Salimata Simpore pulled one back to score in her third successive match.
But Player of the Match Boakye completed her brace soon thereafter to send Burkina Faso crashing out of the tournament.
